Our husband and wife duo of Drunken Sailors features pop rock and folk influences, with subtle harmonies, twelve string guitar, and dynamic flute solos. We cover groups often overlooked by other bands – from the Bee Gees to Seals and Croft, from one hit wonders like "Brandy" to standards like "Stairway to Heaven." You might hear Neil Diamond followed by Neil Young, or Paul Simon followed by Paul McCartney, or even Van Morrison followed by the king of all summertime music – Jimmy Buffet! Drunken Sailors is all about having fun in the summer sun, or a winter hide-a-way. Relax to familiar tunes and drift away with a couple of Drunken Sailors. NOTE: We have each received our Covid shots!
The following tunes are available here for demonstration purposes only AND WERE
RECORDED LIVE IN OUR LIVINGROOM USING ONLY OUR iPHONE. NO OVERDUBS, NO STUDIO TRICKS!
ABOVE: In 2008, on Ambergris Caye island, off Belize, we met and played some music with Jerry Jeff Walker, who wrote and performed the hit song "Mr. Bo Jangles." Jerry passed away last year and we were so very glad to have met and talked with him.
BELOW: In 2002, we met and played on stage with the famous Don Ho, at Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii. Don is also gone now, but we returned to his club on Waikiki Beach in 2012, now owned by Jimmy Buffett, and we played on the same stage exactly ten years to the day! |
